Race walker Cindy Lange took part in the Race Walking Grand Prix on Saturday, 7 May at Youngsfield in her first ever debut 30km walk. Her time was 03:17:17, which was a new WP record by only about 45 seconds.
Four women and seven men started, but only two women finished the long walk.
Says Cindy, “It was so tough, much harder than I've ever run a 30km and, when my supporters realised I was close to the record, they pushed me to a sprint finish - but it was worth every aching muscle today!”
